FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COVID-19 and NSAID Use
At this time Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the safest and most effective medication to use for fever or aches related to viral illnesses. We currently do not recommend anti-inflammatories such as Advil, Motrin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or meloxicam for these purposes. If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or flu like symptoms and take these medications routinely for other medical problems, please call your physician’s office.
What to do if you are feeling unwell
If you have mild symptoms of coronavirus such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or flu like symptoms please stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days. If you have any concerns please call our office and speak with your nurse.
If you have severe fever or difficulty breathing please go to your local emergency department. Put on a mask and sanitize your hands when you arrive. Inform them that you need to be screened for coronavirus.
If you are experiencing other medical symptoms and need medical attention that is not an emergency, do not go to the emergency department. Please call our office and speak with your nurse. We are still seeing patients that have urgent medical needs that are not appropriate for an emergency room visit.
